First edition of the OSCE GEMS Award

Six young entrepreneurs from Mediterranean countries were the winners of the 1st edition of the OSCE GEMS Award 2017 for young “green entrepreneurs”.
The winners, men and women under 35, were selected from 240 applications, 30% of which were presented by women entrepreneurs.
The OSCE GEMS Award was held in Vienna on April 26, 2018. Lina Al-Kurdi from Jordan, Leila Rima Boussada from Algeria, Othmane Benhlima from Morocco, Ati Nisaf from Tunisia, Yakir Tadmor from Israel and Yara Yassin from Egypt, were awarded for their innovative business ideas aimed at achieving environmental impact pursuing at the same time social objectives. Each winner received a grant of € 15,000.
Grants can be used for the adoption of new technologies, processes or production methods, introduced to build and develop socially and environmentally sustainable businesses.
